D&D Dungeon Club: Roll Call

9/10 As a fan of the Forgotten Realms book series and with my daughters enjoying the D&D: Honour Among Thieves movie, I bought this graphic novel to try to encourage this interest. My daughters both read the whole book in one sitting, really enjoying the roleplaying aspect of the real-life counterparts playing as their characters. The story is set in high school and talks about issues often found within that setting such as friendships breaking down, bullying and feeling alone or different to everyone else. However, it uses Dungeons & Dragons as a way to build and improve relationships and a way to escape the real world problems that the characters have, with everyone welcome to join the Dungeon Club on their adventures. The illustrations within this book are amazing and really enhance the story, with Molly Knox Ostertag and Xanthe Bouma making a great team.
